Introducing - A Room of One’s Own
A Room of One’s Own is an intimate talk series set in a bedroom, inspired by Virginia Woolf’s seminal essay.
Underwear is the first layer that touches our skin — the most private garment we wear. Similarly, a room of one’s own is where we spend our most personal, unfiltered time. This series explores the intimate connection between these two private realms: the body and the space it retreats to.
In A Room of One’s Own, Woolf writes about a time when women lacked both physical and financial autonomy. She argued that having a room — a private, undisturbed space — was essential not just for writing, but for creating, earning, and living with agency. A room becomes more than a space — it becomes a symbol of freedom, expression, and ownership of one’s life.
Our rooms reflect our personalities, rituals, and daily rhythms — the objects we hold close, the music that surrounds us, the memories we collect. Through this series, we observe and document the emotional atmosphere of these spaces, and the quiet power they give back to the women who inhabit them.
